Japanese Pokémon booster boxes
A booster box (called a “display” in France) is the full box of packs from one set, exactly as it reaches Japanese shops. Here are the Japanese Pokémon booster boxes in stock at Yuminto, sealed in their original shrink wrap and shipped from France. Further down: what they contain depending on the set, how to read their code and how to check that a box is intact.

What is a Japanese booster box?
In Japan it is simply called a “BOX”: the box of packs from one set, sealed at the factory. For a collector, it is the most direct way to discover a set pack after pack, or to keep it intact, just as it was released.
A Japanese box is usually more compact than a Western one, because its packs hold fewer cards. You can also recognise it by its packaging, designed for the Japanese market, and by cards printed entirely in Japanese.
What a box contains, depending on the set
The contents depend on the type of set. A few examples from our catalogue:
- Standard set — Mega Brave (M1L), Munikis Zero (M3) and Ninja Spinner (M4) each contain 30 packs of 5 cards.
- High Class Pack — a more generous format focused on sought-after cards: MEGA Dream ex (M2a) contains 10 packs of 10 cards.
- Special editions — anniversary sets and themed sets: their format varies from one release to the next.
The exact number of packs and cards is always listed on the product page. For comparison, a full French box contains 36 packs of 10 cards (Chaos Ascendant ME04, for example), and a half box 18 packs.
Reading a Japanese box's set code
Each Japanese set has a code (M1L, M2a, SV4a…), printed on its cards and repeated on product pages. It is the safest way to compare two offers without mixing up editions, because a Japanese set name does not always match the Western one.
- The letters — the era: S (Sword & Shield), SV (Scarlet & Violet), M (Mega).
- The number — the release order within the era.
- The suffix — a lowercase “a” usually marks a special set or a High Class Pack (M2a, SV4a); a capital letter marks twin sets released together, such as M1L and M1S.
Sealed box: how to check it is intact
A booster box is sold for what is inside: packs that were never opened, in a box that was never reopened. A few things to check before buying:
- The shrink wrap — tight, clean and even on every side, with no suspicious folds, glue marks or areas warped by heat.
- The box — sharp edges, crisp printing, no deformation that would betray an opening.
- The seller — they should be able to tell you where the box comes from. A price far below the market should raise a flag.
At Yuminto, every Japanese booster box is bought from established shops and suppliers in Japan, checked on arrival and sold in its original shrink wrap. We never sell an opened box as sealed.
Keep it sealed or open it?
Both are fine: it is your collection. If you open it, enjoy every pack. If you keep it sealed, store it flat, away from direct light, humidity and temperature swings, ideally in a rigid protective case. A well-kept box stays beautiful, but no box is guaranteed to gain value.
Shipping from France
Booster boxes leave within 24 to 48 business hours, wedged in a reinforced carton so the box and its shrink wrap arrive intact, tracked, to a pickup point or your home. As they are already in France, there are no customs fees for delivery within France or the European Union. Parcel insurance is offered at checkout, and included automatically above a certain amount.
Frequently asked questions about Japanese booster boxes
How many packs are in a Japanese Pokémon booster box?+
It depends on the set. A standard set often has 30 packs of 5 cards (Mega Brave M1L, for example); a High Class Pack such as MEGA Dream ex (M2a) has 10 packs of 10 cards. The exact contents are listed on each product page.
Is a Japanese box cheaper than a Western one?+
Often, because it contains fewer cards in total. But the price mostly depends on the set: a very popular set or a High Class Pack can cost as much as a Western box, or more.
Are the boxes factory sealed?+
Yes. They are sold in their original shrink wrap, as received from our suppliers in Japan, after inspection on arrival. An opened box is never sold as sealed.
Are the cards in a Japanese box in English or French?+
No, all the cards are printed in Japanese. For collecting, the set code and card number are enough to identify them.
How long does delivery take?+
Orders leave France within 24 to 48 business hours, then take 2 to 5 business days in transit depending on the destination.
Are there customs fees?+
No, not for delivery within France or the European Union: the boxes have already been imported and ship from France.
What is a High Class Pack?+
A Japanese set in a “premium” format: fuller packs focused on the most sought-after cards. MEGA Dream ex (M2a) is one example.
